This is a collection of really old shit recorded between 2001-2009 that never got a proper release, or it's been floating around in the ether for years. Each song has a story. For instance, "Thrift Shop Girl" [2002] is the first solo song I ever recorded at an official studio. "The Opium" [2005] was written and recorded solely for the purposes of teaching myself how to use Pro-Tools. "Red-Headed Slut" [2004] never got released because there was a possibility Belief was going to give the beat to Jean Grae or The Beatnuts. "Shelbyville" [2001] was supposed to be a single from my never-released first album, SHOPLIFTERS OF THE WORLD UNITE. "Mojo" [2001] was featured on the first and only vinyl release by my crew, The VJC. Most of these songs are unmixed or unmastered. Some of the songs are unfinished sketches, or just written and recorded for practice (i.e., "Wet Paint" [2007]). For an artist like me, songs recorded more than a year ago are light years away, so I feel I was much younger and much less experienced as a songwriter in these joints. But I invite you to experience the evolution of my creative process over the last decade through these resurrected Letters From Robot Romeo. Coincidentally, many of these songs deal with women, revenge, seduction, betrayal, abandonment, adoration, suffocation, lust, longing and loss....so there's kind of a love theme, even though this isn't intended to be an album. Click on individual song titles for production credits and to see what year I recorded that particular song. Production from Belief, Badtouch, X-Man, AmDex (Yamin Semali) and P.U.D.G.E. Peace, and thanks for supporting me all these years. Stay tuned for The Milky Way. ... more
